HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Jury deliberations are now underway in Charles and Linda Bolton's trial after their defense only called one witness.

The government delivered a 43 minute closing argument and the defense gave a 45 minute closing argument.

"Moral of the story, liars figure, but the figures just don't lie," said Assistant U.S. Attorney Fred Harper after the defense finished their closing arguments. "I feel like I am following Siegfried and Roy. It's everyone's fault but them."

The government stated that the defense used John Lee as a "smoke-screen" to cloud judgment.

"Stealing is stealing, lying is lying, loans are not sales," said Harper. "They knew what they were doing."

In total, the jury has 20 verdicts to deliver. There are 10 counts each for Charles and Linda.

Forrest County Sheriff, Billy McGee, Deborah Delgado, former HPD chief Frazier Bolton were all seen in the court room.
