Farm catches fire in Jones County

JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

Jones County firefighters responded to a fire in the Soso community Sunday morning. 

According to Public Relations Director Caleb Worrell a farm caught fire, and firefighters responded to Ishee Drive and 10:30 a.m.

Worrell said the home on the right side of the property is a total loss, but for the garage on the left side of the property remains standing. 

No injuries have been reported at this time, including animals on the property, but five responders have been treated for heat exhaustion. 

The cause of the fire is still unknown.
