JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - A Jones County man made his initial appearance in court Friday morning for a grand larceny charge.
Michael Lancaster, 40, was taken into custody by the Jones County Sheriff's Department and charged with grand larceny.
A judge set his bond at $50,000.
According to the JCSD, deputies responded to Jim's Golf Carts in reference to a larceny in mid August.
The complainant reported he was missing a four-wheeler and a club car.
According to reports, the fence surrounding the business was cut to gain access to the vehicles. Deputies collected VIN numbers.
Over the Labor Day weekend, the Gulfport Police Department recovered an ATV in the possession of Lancaster.
Lancaster is also a suspect in other stolen ATV reports.
According to the JCSD, Lancaster was taken into custody by the GPD, and the department found several four-wheelers, ATV parts and other accessories at Lancaster's residence.
Authorities called it a "chop shop," where vehicles are broken down for their parts and sold piecemeal.
