HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Hattiesburg police are still searching for answers as to the motive behind a retired Hattiesburg Public School District employee's homicide.

Ann Georgian was identified as the woman police found dead in the 300 block of Mamie Street Saturday morning.

Seven On Your Side reached out to Hattiesburg police information officer Lt. Jon Traxler, who could not answer whether or not the attack was random or if someone she knew was involved.

"We do not have any new information at this time, the investigation is on-going," Traxler said.

Traxler said Tuesday that investigators are still trying to locate Georgian's missing dog, who she was walking at the time of the incident.

According to Forrest County Deputy Coroner Jonathan Nobles and Hattiesburg Police, the cause and manner of death is not being released at this time pending the ongoing investigation.

If you have any information regarding the case, contact Hattiesburg Police or Metro Crime Stoppers at 601-582-STOP.
