JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - A Jones County man has been charged with molestation, according to the Jones County Sheriff's Department.
In March 2016, it was reported to the Jones County Sheriff's Department that a juvenile was touched inappropriately by David Mattos, 36 of Laurel.
The victim went for a forensic interview a few weeks later and recounted the inappropriate behavior, identifying Mattos, and said it had occurred on two separate occasions, according to the sheriff.
Mattos was interviewed and released pending a decision from the grand jury.
In August 2016, the Grand Jury indicted Mattos on two counts of molestation.
He was taken into custody, and his bond was set at $25,000.
