Jones County sending relief to Louisiana flood victims

JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

The Jones County Sheriff's Department and the Jones County Volunteer Fire Departments are sending Louisiana flood relief supplies needed for French Corner Baptist Church in Ponchatoula.

Relief supplies will be leaving out this Tuesday morning. Canned or boxed non-perishable food, cleaning supplies, sports drinks, pump up sprayers to spray flooded homes for mold, etc.are needed. 

Anyone wanting to donate supplies before before the team leaves on Tuesday morning, may drop them off at the Jones County Sheriff's Department Training Center behind the old Crocker's On The Hill location from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday or at Powers Fire & Rescue from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday. 

If anyone would like to make a financial contribution, we can take your donation and hand deliver it to Pastor Eric Hattaway at French Corner Baptist Church.

The 13th-ranked Golden Eagles took advantage of MTSU starter Jake Wyrick’s wildness, mixing six walks in with three hits to build an early lead on the way to a 9-1 Conference USA victory over the Blue Raiders.
