Supplies leave Columbia for flood-ravaged Louisiana

COLUMBIA, MS (WDAM) - South Mississippians are continuing to step up to help victims of the flooding in Louisiana.

On Friday afternoon, several truckloads of donated supplies left the Winn-Dixie parking lot in Columbia, bound for relief centers in several flood-ravaged areas.

Donations of water, cleaning supplies, baby items and pet food were collected in the last two days, in a drive hosted by the Columbia Police Department and Jones Companies.

The supplies will be dropped off in areas like Denham Springs and Gonzales.
