USM hoops gets OSU transfer

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - According to a report by CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein, Oklahoma State men's basketball transfer Tyree Griffin has committed to Southern Miss.

Griffin, a native of New Orleans, will have to sit out the 2016-17 season before having two years of eligibility left due to the NCAA's transfer rules. The 5-foot-10 point guard put up 5.2 points per game and was second on OSU with 3.9 assists as a sophomore last year.

Griffin is the second transfer for the Golden Eagles this summer, joining former Grand Canyon player Dominic Magee who committed to the program in July.
