HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

With the beginning of school just around the corner, Mount Olive Baptist Church in Hattiesburg was giving out free haircuts Monday.

The church has been giving out school supplies for a number of years, but this year the church decided to include haircuts for boys because there was a need.

Boys ages five through 12 were eligible.

The church will continue to give out school supplies up until the start of the new school year

”Normally we do backpacks with supplies that we give out to the kids in the community, but this year we decided to take it a bit farther and do supplies as well as haircuts as just an additional incentive to give back to the community because there was a need,” said Tamekia Keys, assistant to the senior pastor.
