Credit card fraud suspect sought by HPD

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Hattiesburg police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a person in a credit card fraud case.

The incident occurred on July 9 in the Hub City, according to Hattiesburg Police Lt. Jon Traxler.

“This unknown female was caught on video camera using a stolen debit card at 200 North 40th Avenue,” Traxler said.  “The suspect is affiliated with a man named, Ricky Austin, who was recently arrested for using another stolen debit card belonging to the same victim.”

If anyone has any information regarding the identity of the person, contact the Hattiesburg Police Department or Metro Crime Stoppers at 601-582-STOP.

    Engineers said portions of Main Street by Mt. Carmel Baptist in Hattiesburg are set to reopen Wednesday. The area has been closed since July after building B of the church was deemed unsafe. Demolition, which cost approximately $334,000, is almost finished, allowing the roads to reopen once the area is cleared.  Portions of 5th Avenue by the church are set to be open sometime next week.  This is a developing story.
