Woman wrecks, lands car in Shady Grove Fire Department parking lot

JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

A Jasper County woman narrowly escaped serious injury after her car left the roadway and ended in the parking lot of Shady Grove Volunteer Fire Department Friday morning. 

According to a news release from The Jones County Fire Council, Shady Grove, and Sharon Volunteer Fire Departments quickly responded to the scene of a one vehicle accident with entrapment in front of the fire station.

Firefighters immediately began extrication of the victim using hydraulic power tools from Shady Grove Rescue. 

According to the release, once the extrication was complete, the woman was transported by EMServ ambulance to South Central Regional Medical Center. 

The victim appeared to have minor injuries, according to the release. 

Reports claimed that the woman was traveling South on Highway 15 North when she rounded a sharp curve and left the roadway. She plunged down a steep embankment before ramping her car up another embankment just to stop feet from the fire station.
