MISSISSIPPI (WDAM) -

Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann released a statement Monday afternoon regarding Sunday’s police shootings in Baton Rouge.

The statement reads:

“The senseless murders/assassinations of police officers must not continue.  All had families, dreams, and a commitment to protect us. None had a history of police misconduct to any citizen. Failure to condemn is to condone. There is no justification for these actions.”

Three officers were killed in a shooting at a gas station in Baton Rouge Sunday. Two of the officers, Montrell Jackson and Matthew Gerald, were officers from the Baton Rouge Police Department, and the other officer, Brad Garafola, was an East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s deputy.
