Fieldhouse for the Homeless hosting camp out to raise awareness of homelessness

(The following is a press release from the Fieldhouse for the Homeless.  The event starts July 22 at 6 p.m. at Timberton Baseball Park in Hattiesburg.  Visit www.facebook.com/hattiesburgfieldhouse or http://campoutstampout.eventbrite.com/ or fieldhouseforthehomeless.com for more details on the event.)

On July 22-23, 2016 the Fieldhouse for the Homeless will host CAMP OUT TO STAMP OUT HOMELESSNESS. The event will be held at the Timberton Baseball Park on William Carey Drive ( formerly Helveston Rd.) in Hattiesburg, MS. Kick off time is 6 pm.

The event's goals hope to raise awareness regarding homelessness in the Pine Belt Area, provide funding for a much needed women's shelter and raise general operating funds for services provided by the Fieldhouse. Sponsors are sought from the community to help reach these goals.

Event participants will sleep in boxes-regardless of weather. While camping out can't possibly simulate real homelessness many experience in the Pine Belt, it can be an effective way to learn, support and highlight their life style and  needs. Participants will encourage friends, family and neighbors to "sponsor" their camp-out to raise awareness and funds for the Fieldhouse.

Activities include live performances, guest speakers, food, games, prizes, a Cardboard Shanty Competition and much more. Campers will wake to breakfast and then on to mission activities.

Event Sponsorship Opportunities range in levels of giving and media coverage. Links to giving and more information are: on facebook at www.facebook.com/hattiesburgfieldhouse and http://campoutstampout.eventbrite.com/ and fieldhouseforthehomeless.com.
