Mullens on another watch list

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

The preseason accolades continue to pile on for Nick Mullens. You can add the Davey O'Brien Award Watch List to the senior quarterback's name.

The O'Brien Award is given to the nation's best signal caller every year. Expectations are high for Mullins inside the Golden Eagle locker room but his game is certainly not a secret nationally.

Mullens has also been named to Maxwell Award Watch List, Wuerffel Trophy Watch List and was nominated for the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team. The latter two recognize the work of athletes in the community.

Last season Mullens set multiple program records, throwing for 4,476 yards and 38 touchdowns.

The O'Brien Watch List also includes Ole Miss senior Chad Kelly, Clemson junior Deshaun Watson, Oklahoma junior Baker Mayfield and Ohio State junior J.T. Barrett among others.
