JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

At the end of June 2016, Jones County Sheriff’s Investigators were alerted to inappropriate behavior involving a young school aged juvenile with an adult male family member.

According to The Jones County Sheriff, the mother of the victim reported an incident of her child being touched after the child had told her about it.

The victim underwent a forensic interview, at which time she was able to disclose the improper actions and named Michael Graham, 54 of Laurel, according to a news release issued by the sheriff's department.

A warrant was issued for Graham’s arrest.

Graham was taken into custody on Sunday and charged with molestation.

During an investigative interview, Graham admitted to touching the child, according to the sheriff.

Graham’s initial appearance at Jones County Justice Court is scheduled for Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.

If found guilty, he could face a maximum prison sentence of 15 years.
