PERRY COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - A morning wreck between an 18 wheeler and a train in Perry County sent two people to a local hospital.
The collision occurred at 8:20 a.m. according to New Augusta Police Chief John Myers.
"The conductor and engineer were transported by AAA Ambulance from the scene complaining of back pain," said Myers. "The cab of the truck wasn't't struck by the train; it was just the tail end of the trailer that was caught."
Myers added that officers are still on scene.
"The road is not blocked and traffic is flowing," said Myers. "The wreck occurred on a private drive at Southern Forrest Product Company Inc. just off U.S. 98."
Myers said the cause of the wreck is under investigation.
