4 jailed in 2 traffic stops in Perry County

PERRY COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

A pair of traffic stops in Perry County landed four people behind bars facing drug charges.

Eric Hillman, 32, and Joshua Clark, 36, were both arrested after a traffic stop in Beaumont Thursday morning. 

Clark was charged with careless driving, and possession of a controlled substance (meth). Hillman was charged with possession of paraphernalia.

Both are currently booked in the Perry County Jail.

Another traffic stop on Wednesday night in the Indian Springs Community landed another two people behind bars.

Lester Pearson, 48, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance (meth) and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Brenda Foster, 39, was charged with possession of paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Foster and Pearson are both booked in the Perry County Jail.

“Both of these traffic stops are just our deputies working the roadways of the county and taking drugs off the streets to make the community safer,” Perry County Sheriff Mitch Nobles said.

    As a freshman quarterback playing behind one of the best athletes to come through Columbia Academy in recent years, Thomas Erastus “Ras” Pace got his first career start in what was arguably the Cougars’ biggest game of the 2016 season. “I thought I did a pretty good job handing the ball off,” said Pace of his starting debut in a second-round MAIS AAA playoff game in place of the inured Wiley Cleland.
