HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Hattiesburg fire officials are investigating a pair of fires at Tatum Park in the Hub City.

According to Hattiesburg Fire Marshal Stephen Mooney, the fires, which had already burned out, were reported by the Hattiesburg Police Department on Tuesday.

Mooney said the fires happened sometime between Friday and Tuesday afternoon.

"Two Port-o-lets and a trash can were found burned at Tatum Park by an incendiary device," said Mooney. "It is believed that the device was made by consumer purchased fireworks."

Mooney said the device was placed adjacent to the port-o-lets and was the ignition factor.

No witnesses have been identified but anyone with any information is asked to call the Hattiesburg Fire Department at 601-545-6678.
