Water park cited by health department for bare hand contact with food, insects or rodents

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - A Pine Belt water park has been cited for two infractions by the health department.

Pep's Point received a "C" rating after a complaint was filed with the health department on June 23.

The first infraction was for bare hand contact with ready-to-eat foods.

A second infraction was for the presence of insects, rodents, or animals at their establishment.

The infractions were immediately remedied the next day during a follow-up inspection in which their rating returned to an "A."

This rating appears to be the first failing grade for the park.
