The city of Laurel was awarded over $356,000 for sewer and water infrastructure.

Mayor Johnny Magee was presented the check to restore Fifth Avenue from Central Avenue to Northview Drive by the Office of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Vicksburg.

The remainder of the cost will be paid from proceeds of a $10 million. General Obligation Bond was issued in December 2015.
