LAUREL, MS (WDAM) -

The Lauren Rogers Museum of Art wrapped up a month of family-friendly art events Wednesday with an early celebration of America's birthday.

The last Free Family Art Day had a 4th of July theme.

It gave children a chance to make their own American flags.

Kids used tissue paper, glue and their imaginations to create patriotic works of art.

Some were very traditional, while others were abstract.

It's the 8th year for the Free Family Art days, which are held every Wednesday in June.
