Vehicle, driver sought in Hub City's 5th homicide

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

The Hattiesburg Police Department is searching for a silver truck, and the driver for questioning in reference to the Sunday shooting death of Corey Husband.

Husband was shot and killed in a parked car in the parking lot of Mugshots at 204 North 40th Avenue Sunday afternoon.

According to Forrest County Deputy Coroner Lisa Klem, the victim died at Forrest General Hospital from multiple gunshot wounds. 

Three people have been charged in the shooting death and made their initial appearances in court Monday. 

James Malik Windham was charged with murder and conspiracy to commit a felony. His bond was set at $1 million for the murder charge and $50,000 for the conspiracy charge. Windham's bond was revoked for a previous armed robbery charge.

Demethius Dixon was also charged with murder and conspiracy to commit a felony. Dixon's bond was set at $750,000 for murder and $50,000 for conspiracy. 

A third suspect, Chadrick Dixon, was charged with hindering prosecution and his bond was set at $50,000.

    Fans were waiting in the parking lot Wednesday outside Hattiesburg High School for tickets to go on sale for the 5A South State Championship Friday night. The Tigers are hosting the Laurel Tornadoes in a I-59 showdown.  The game, a repeat of the "Lil' Brown Jug" game will give the Tornadoes the chance at revenge, after Hattiesburg won the rivalry game 20-14 in August.
