MS Lion's All-State Band wins 32nd international title

ELLISVILLE, MS (WDAM) -

For the 14th time in 15 years, the Mississippi Lion's All-State Band has won an international competition.  

The 145-member band, made up of the state's best high school musicians, has taken top honors at a championship event in Japan.

The band rehearsed at Jones County Junior College for a week before heading overseas.  

They will be back in Ellisville Wednesday. 

It is the 32nd time since 1951 that the band has won first place.

    There were two Rite Aid stores in the Pine Belt at the start of 2018; one in Petal and one in Hattiesburg. Now, only the Petal location remains open, but it will soon close its doors for good, too.
