Fourth of July celebrations get an early start as local singers and musicians team together to show their patriotism.

The Hattiesburg Civic Chorus, Meistersingers and Hattiesburg-Concert-Band performed together at William Carey today to share their love of music with the community. They played patriotic music like the national anthem and famous war hymns. Several veterans from the VFW attended and said they enjoy coming to this concert every year.

“Oh  yea, to be a veteran and hear all of this patriotic music makes you feel good,” said veteran Robert Botims. “It makes you proud to be a veteran and an American, especially to serve our country and the people who serve it till today. “

These local musicians are all volunteers and welcome other musicians who want to share their passion as well.
