HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Jazmo’s Bodega and convenience store will host its soft opening for the public Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The store is located in downtown Hattiesburg on 631 N. Main Street.

Owned by 27-year-old Trey Sullivan, the small business offers household convenience items, grab-and-go snack items, coffee, tobacco products and selection of local beer for downtown residents and employees.

“My dream for Jazmo’s is to add convenience to the Downtown experience. Jazmo’s is more than a convenience store, it is a community space for Downtown residents, visitors, and employees," Sullivan said in a Blueprint press release.

Sullivan is a USM alumnus and Hattiesburg native. While working for the city at the Hattiesburg Engineering Department, he spent a lot of time talking to residents and employees in the downtown area and discovered that the community needed a convenience store within walking distance, according to the press release.

The event will also include live music from Scott Chism and the Better Half. The gran opening for the bodega will be at the end of June.
