Hattiesburg restaurant cited for unsafe temperatures, insects present

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - A scheduled inspection on June 13 left Dairy Queen on Highway 49 in Hattiesburg with a 'C' rating.

The rating came down to two issues.

The first, proper cold holding temperatures were not in compliance.

The second was the presence of insects, according to Kelly Davis, Dairy Queen manager. Davis said flies were present during the inspection, but the problem has since been corrected.

The restaurant was also hit with a 'C' rating back in November for various violations, but a follow-up bumped it up to a "B."

For the most part, the restaurant has maintained an "A" rating since the letter rating scale went into effect back in 2007.
