"The incident  happened in the afternoon hours of June 8th and was reported to Hattiesburg Police that night," Hattiesburg Police Department Lt. Detective Branden McLemore said.

The incident allegedly occurred on The Longleaf Trace, which is just off West 4th Street.

"The victims stated they were held at gunpoint, taken in a car and driven to an ATM to withdraw money, they were let out north of the city limits and picked up by a Forrest County Deputy," McLemore said.

The vehicle that was used was a 2003 white four-door Hyundai Elantra, according to McLemore.

"This is something that we have been working on and exhausting our resources to solve," McLemore said.
