Learn more about the future Continental Tire manufacturing plant Tuesday, June 21, from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Clinton High School Auditorium, located at 401 Arrow Drive in Clinton, Miss.
Open to the public, the town hall-style meeting will provide updates about the plant, which will be built in Hinds County near Clinton. Presentations will include a project overview and why Continental chose Mississippi. There will be a project timeline and a walk-through of the recently launched website designed to connect Mississippi vendors and contractors with upcoming opportunities with the company. The meeting will conclude with a Q&A session.
"The new Continental Tire plant will bring thousands of direct and indirect career and contracting opportunities for Mississippians and Mississippi companies," said MDA Executive Director Glenn McCullough, Jr. "We encourage Mississippi residents and contractors interested in learning more about this project to join us in Clinton for this event."
Continental, the fourth largest tire manufacturing company in the world, announced in February 2016 it would locate the company's most technologically advanced tire plant in North America in Hinds County, creating 2,500 jobs. The company is set to break ground in late 2016. Construction on the multimillion-square-foot commercial tire manufacturing facility is slated to begin in January 2018.
The informational meeting is hosted by the Mississippi Development Authority, Hinds County, the city of Clinton and Continental.
