HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

The Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority held its 12th biennial Pink Cotillion this evening.

The debutant ball was themed, ““An Evening of Enchantment Honoring Fourteen Precious Pearl.”

The evening honored 14 high school women from all across The Pine Belt including Purvis, Columbia and Hattiesburg.

The Cotillion honored the women for their hard work and extracurricular activities.

“The whole purpose of the debutant ball is to formally introduce the best of the best to society and we think with these 14 young ladies we have done just that,” said event organizer Carol Jones Russel.

The 14 debutantes will also get awarded scholarships that will go towards their college tuition.
