HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - William Carey University is offering summer baseball camps for those who want to have fun and be exposed to the sport.
Kids ages 7 through 12 are shown the fundamentals of the game through pitching, catching and hitting. While drills and team play are used to evaluate the players. individual instruction is also part of the week-long camp.
WCU Head Coach Bobby Halford leads the camp this year and said it's a good group of boys.
"We're trying to go over everything that they need as far as to be a successful baseball player and this is a time to start at this age," Halford said. "It's a good area for baseball because a lot of these kids go to these camps and we've had these camps for a long time."
Halford has been involved at baseball camps at the school for about 30 years now. For more information about the camps, click here.
