HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Dozens of young children from the Hattiesburg area came to the Library of Hattiesburg, Petal and Forrest County to attend a fun and educational event just for them Wednesday.
Festival Speaks' "Arti's Reading Event" gave kids a chance to hear a good story and also ask questions about it.
The event kicked off the library's eight-week summer reading program.
"We have programming every week and for the different ages, story times, games, yoga," said Christina Thornhill, youth services librarian. "And for younger children, also, we'll have two story times every Wednesday, starting next week."
Library staff said the focus this summer will be on fitness and nutrition, as well as reading.
