JEFFERSON DAVIS COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

A Jeff Davis County escaped inmate is in custody, according to authorities.

Jerry Raynes, 45, was caught in Bogalusa, Louisiana, Monday afternoon.

Raynes escaped from the Jeff Davis County facility sometime during the night according to department officials.

“The inmate got out through the ceiling sometime after midnight and 7:30 a.m. and was last seen wearing a prison orange jumpsuit,” said Jeff Davis County Sheriff Ron Strickland. “Raynes is a non-violent offender, but we just want the public to be aware and keep an eye out and let us know if they see him.”

Raynes has a previous list of charges that include attempted grand larceny, utility theft, petit larceny, possession of drug paraphernalia and a hold from the Mississippi Department of Corrections, according to Strickland.
