Train collides with garbage truck in Lamar County, 1 injured

LAMAR COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

A train collided with a garbage truck in Lamar County sending one person to the hospital.

The wreck happened near 103 Jude Brewer Road in Lumberton around 10 a.m.

According to county officials, the driver was taken by ambulance from the scene with injuries.

There was also one county inmate and a county employee on the back of the garbage truck, but they jumped off before the collision.

The cause of the wreck is under investigation at this time.
