The Arc of Southeast Mississippi received a donation that will help fund a program for adults with physical and intellectual disabilities.

On Tuesday afternoon, that organization received $29,000 from the Hattiesburg Clinic.

The money was raised during the annual "Rise and Shine Half-Marathon" in April.

It will going toward the Arc's "Rise and Shine" program.

"This money helps continue this program to grow and keep these adults active throughout the year," said Susan Yarrow, co-chair of the half-marathon.

"$29,000 is just a phenomenal gift for our organization and that will bring great things for the year to come," said Cindy Pennington, executive director of the Arc of Southeast Mississippi.

This year was the fifth year for the half-marathon.
