HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

There will be live music in the park this summer in downtown Hattiesburg.

The Downtown Summer Tunes is a Live at Five Hattiesburg style event that will take place the second Saturday of the month from June until September.

The live music will start around 7 p.m. evening with food vendors and some arts and crafts booths as well.

It's basically us from 'LIVE at Five' working with the downtown association to offer a music series over the summer,” said Sarah Newton, organizer of Downtown Summer Tunes. “Even though it's a little bit later, we figure that it being summertime, kids stay up a little bit later as well. So it's a very family friendly event. Hopefully we'll just have the similar feel to Live at Five (and) that's our goal."

Organizers want folks to know that these events are for all ages and will be kid friendly.
