Police, firefighters team up to help Special Olympics

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Hattiesburg police officers and firefighters climbed new heights Saturday to help the Special Olympics.

They took to the roof of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts on Hardy Street for 12 hours to raise money for the organization.

The event called, "Cops on Doughnut Shops" is being held across the country.  It's the third year the Hattiesburg Police Department and Hattiesburg Fire Department have participated.

Last year, the event in the Hub City brought in more than $1,800 for Special Olympics.
