JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

A Jones County man is behind bars and charged with felony false pretense.

Brandon Rancifer, 22 of Ellisville, was taken into custody, with the help of the Hattiesburg Police Department, after a report was filed at the Jones County Sheriff’s Department last week.

The report claimed that Rancifer had used a person’s bank card for personal withdrawals, according to a JCSD news release.

The victim said that Rancifer made cash withdrawals while making fuel purchases, according to the report. The charges totaled almost $3,000, which included the withdrawals, fees and other charges.

During Rancifer’s interrogation, he admitted to using the victim’s bank card.

Rancifer made his initial appearance in Jones County Justice Court Tuesday afternoon.

According to the news release, the case will be compiled and sent to the District Attorney’s office for further action.
