South Jones first baseman Miguel Morgan signed a scholarship to continue his baseball career at Jones County Junior College on Monday.
The senior helped lead the Braves to the third round of the 5A playoffs in 2016 and will play in the D.M. Howie Mississippi All-Star baseball game for the south squad on June 4th.
Morgan says he is happy to continue his career at JCJC and also carry on the tradition of successful South Jones baseball players at the next level. "It's just a great opportunity to go play right here at home and go out and show my talents and have fans support," Morgan said. He added, "We just have this tradition at South Jones where we go to college and we have great success and do the things we're supposed to be doing and just have a great time."
Morgan and the Braves finished the season Friday with a 21-10 record in the third round of the playoffs after winning the region 5-5A title.
