LAUREL, MS (WDAM) - Thousands of people shopped for arts, crafts and food to benefit the Laurel Arts League Saturday.
They visited a packed Mason Park for the annual Day in the Park.
Lots of art items were up for sale from a record number of vendors. And many different foods were available
Live music also filled the park all day.
Organizers say it's their biggest fundraiser of the year.
"All the money comes to the Laurel Arts League for us to continue to do projects with the community to help promote and celebrate the arts especially with children," said Elizabeth Kent, president of the Laurel Arts League.
"Turn out seems to have been awesome," said Suzanne Boyd, a vendor from Laurel. "I had to park even at seven o'clock this morning an amazing distance away. As far as people wanting to spend money at this festival, they have been very generous today."
This was the 44th year for Day in the Park.
