PERRY COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

An anonymous tip called into Crime Stoppers led to three arrests in Perry County.

“Late last night Perry County Sheriff’s Office received a tip from Crime Stoppers in reference to drug activity on Dewit Drive, off Ace Carlisle Road in the county,” Perry County Sheriff Mitch Nobles said. 

Perry County deputies, Richton police and New Augusta officers searched the house with consent, according to Nobles.

“After obtaining consent to search, officers found approximately 2 grams of crystal meth and precursor items to manufacture crystal meth,” Nobles said.

Charles Henry Dewitt Jr., 49,was arrested and charged with possession of controlled substance (crystal meth), manufacturing of crystal meth and was served with an outstanding trespassing warrant.

Turner Cade Dewitt, 18, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Christopher Henry Dewitt, 23, was arrested for a warrant through the Wayne County Sheriff's Department.

“Drugs are one thing we will not tolerate in this county, I said it when I first took office and we are going to clean this county up,” Nobles said.

    Currently, Lumberton High School senior safety C.K. Bowens acts as a de facto coach-on-the-field for Coach Zach Jones’ defense. And if Jones’ has his way, Bowens will become a coach on his staff some day in the future. “Somebody’s fired,” Jones said only half-kidding. “He has a job because I would hire him in a minute. He just has a way of getting his point across and people listen. He’s just a natural leader.”
