HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Nearly 30 films from the U.S., Great Britain and Canada will be shown in Hattiesburg during the second annual Festival South Film Expo from May 31 - June 2.
Fourteen feature-length films and 14 shorts will be screened at Hattiesburg's Grand Theater during the event.
Several panel discussions and workshops will also be held in conjunction with the festival.
A kick-off will be held on May 30 at the Dollar Box Showroom in downtown Hattiesburg and expo awards will be presented as part of the Best of the Pine Belt Awards June 3 at the Saenger Theater.
"A lot of people are excited about what we are doing with the Festival South Film Expo here in Hattiesburg," said Miles Doleac, executive director of the film expo. "A lot of people are excited to come here to showcase their films, to talk about their films, filmmakers from all over the world and all over the country and of course, a lot of filmmakers from right here in Mississippi."
