PERRY COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

A Perry County man is behind bars after an alleged shooting Thursday in the southern part of the county.

Dustin Shane Busby, 21, was arrested this evening and charged with aggravated assault after authorities say he was involved in an incident with another man.

The incident happened around 2:30 p.m. at the Fairley Bridge Landing.

"Our deputies responded to the call and the victim advised he was struck by another man in the head by the butt of a gun," Perry County Sheriff Mitch Nobles said."The victim said he was also shot at several times, but never hit."

The victim was treated at Stone County Hospital for a laceration to his head.

Perry County Deputies and Forrest Service officers arrested Busby in connection to the incident. He was questioned and charged, according to Nobles.

The case is still under investigation.
