HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

The United Way of Southeast Mississippi hosted its annual meeting and thank you banquet at the Hattiesburg Train Depot Thursday.

About 200 people attended the annual luncheon, which recognizes its donors, volunteers and businesses that assist with its annual fundraising campaign.
Volunteer Hattiesburg, which is now a part of United Way of Southeast Mississippi, recognized Debi Myrick and Ruth Reed for their outstanding efforts to the community over the past year.
It is also the day when the organization reveals its total pledge amount for the year's fundraising efforts.
"I think it's important for us to be able to tell the community a little bit about what we've done in 2015,” said Tracie Fowler, president and CEO of United Way of Southeast Mississippi. “But really it's about celebration, it's about thanking the people that make it all happen.”

The total campaign impact from the community was just over $1 million for 2015 at $1,080,056.
