HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

A Hattiesburg police officer and a Forrest County deputy are involved in an ongoing investigation after an incident at a Hub City bar.

According to Hattiesburg Police Lt. Jon Traxler, the incident occurred on April 23, 2016, at Shenanigans Bar & Grille.

"Charges have been filed against the officer, at this time I'm not sure what those charges are, but he has not been arrested yet," Traxler said.

Traxler confirmed that the HPD officer was placed on administrative leave without pay, but would not release the name due to it being a personnel issue.

Forrest County Sheriff's Department Investigator Nick Calico confirmed that a Forrest County Deputy was also involved, and that it was an ongoing investigation.

Calico could not confirm the name or the current employment status of the officer.

According to Forrest County records, no termination paperwork has been filed for a sheriff's deputy as of Wednesday afternoon.

Traxler added that HPD did respond to the incident on the April 23.

WDAM has filed a records request for the incident report pertaining to the call.
