Volunteers from a delivery service company spent time Saturday cleaning up a neglected, 200-year-old cemetery in Lamar County.
More than two dozen volunteers from FedEx cut grass, removed debris and gathered up fallen headstones at the Old Eaton Cemetery on Auburn Place near the Hattiesburg city limits.
Many of the graves are from the 1800s.
Some of the headstones are for veterans of World War One, World War Two and the Korean War.
Volunteers say the oldest grave is from 1815.
"We work in this community, we play in this community, we owe something back to this community and to do something small like this to beautify the community, we're all about it," said Chad Wilkerson, one of the volunteers.
"We have so many customers that are around here and we have their business and everything and it's the right thing for us to do is to give back to help in the community somewhere," said Tlimmie Christopher, another volunteer.
Wilkerson is hoping someone will be able to provide information about where misplaced headstones should be located. If you can help, call him at (601) 582-9970, extension 3.
