HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Hundreds of people gathered in downtown Hattiesburg for the 18th Annual Crawfish Jam.
There were 6,000 pounds of crawfish, lots of beer and, of course, live music. Young children also had fun jumping in bounce houses and dancing around to music. The money raised will go toward taking care of Wathall Park and the school building. Executive Director of the Historic Hattiesburg Downtown Association Andrea Saffle said this event is meant to bring families together for a fun weekend.
"You know, it's just a great experience to have people come down and have that neighborhood atmosphere and feel what it's like to be downtown and experience great music right here in Hattiesburg," Saffle said.
The leftover food will be donated to Christian Services and the Field House for the Homeless.
