HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The trial date for a Hattiesburg pastor and his co-defendant who were indicted on federal charges has been pushed back.

Kenneth Fairley and Artie Fletcher were scheduled for court on April 18, but that date has now been pushed back to June 13, 2016.

Federal court documents show Fairley's attorney, Sanford Knott, has cited time restraints for a proper defense and asked for the postponement.

Fairley and Fletcher are accused of defrauding the United States Government of thousands of dollars through Housing Urban Development grants provided to Pine Belt Community Services and organizations belonging to Fairley and Fletcher.
