LAUREL, MS (WDAM) -

Two Texas men are behind bars after a traffic stop in Laurel, according to a Laurel Police Department press release.

Javier Hernandez-Garcia, 29 and Licen Reyner Vega, 22, both of Houston, Texas, were arrested and charged with one count each of receiving stolen property.

On Monday afternoon, a LPD Department officer pulled over a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu for traffic infractions. Three people were inside the vehicle, and as the officer searched the vehicle, he found what was later identified as more than 1,000 stolen Master Card gift cards, according to LPD. Police verified from the credit card company that the gift cards were stolen.

The third person was released without charges.

Hernandez-Garcia and Vega are housed in the Jones County Jail. They will make their initial appearances in Laurel Municipal Court Friday.
