If you suffer from allergies, you are probably taking allergy medicine a couple of times a day.
Hattiesburg Clinic Dietitian Stephanie Owen has a simple snack you may want to try that she said is good for sneezing and itchy, watery eyes.
She said a fruit salad is just right for spring.
"We got the Louisiana strawberries that are coming into season they are fantastic. We are going to add a little bit of honey in there to add that allergy fighting component," Owen said.
Owen said mix six cups of cut up strawberries, two cups of blackberries and make sure you add local honey.
"The local honey is the best because it helps with the allergies of the area," Owen said.
Next, add two tablespoons of lemon juice, and one fourth cup of fresh mint, or you can add an extract.
"Then, mix it all up," Owen said.
Owen said the vitamin C and the antioxidants in the fruit will help with your immune system.
