Storms hit the Pine Belt area late Monday into early Tuesday, and damage has already been reported across numerous counties.
In Clark County, a tree was blown down across Hwy 513.
In Jasper County, a tree was blown down on county roads 16 and 31 near Louin. Trees were also blown down on Hwy 528 near Bay Springs, causing power outages.
In Smith County, trees were blown down on Hwy 504 near Pineville. On Hwy 35, power lines are down and a tin shed was damaged by a possible tornado near the 35 and 481 intersection located north of Raleigh near Lemon. Trees are also down on Hwy 13 near Polkville.
The National Weather Service is expected to make a visit to the area to survey the damage and give more reports on upcoming weather systems. Travelers are advised to use caution during their morning commutes.
